ROBÔ FOFINHO DA TOYOTA CARREGA ITENS COMO UM HUMANO!

De aparência amigável e movimentos suaves, o novo robô humanoide da Toyota se inspira no modo como os humanos carregam objetos. Punyo, como foi chamado, utiliza não apenas suas mãos, mas todo o corpo para agarrar itens e realizar tarefas cotidianas, como segurar um galão de água no ombro ou abraçar um urso e guardá-lo numa caixa.

Como o robô foi projetado?

Punyo tem um rosto fofinho e um corpo macio que lembra um suéter vermelho. Ele é tipo um Baymax, de Big Hero 6, na vida real.

Só que ao invés dos cuidados médicos, Punyo foi projetado para carregar objetos do mesmo modo que um humano: utilizando todo o corpo.

Seus braços são cobertos com um material macio e flexível equipado com sensores táteis que permitem que o robô identifique objetos.

Ele também tem um par de “patas” sem garras que possui vários pontos com câmeras. Quando Punyo toca algo, suas mãos se deformam e ele entende que tocou algo.

Para conferir suavidade ao movimento, os braços têm 13 bexigas cheias de ar em todo o ombro e pulso. Elas são úteis para adaptar a força para cada tarefa.

Todo esse aparato, em conjunto com uma técnica de aprendizado com inteligência artificial, permite que Punyo faça tarefas usando todo o corpo para agarrar e carregar objetos.

Treinamento de Punyo

A equipe da Toyota está treinando Punyo com diferentes tarefas. Desde as mais simples, como abraçar objetos e guardá-los numa caixa, até movimentos mais complexos, como segurar um galão de água no ombro. Confira algumas das coisas que o robô tem feito nos testes:


Aprendizagem com IA

Punyo, assim como outros robôs da Toyota, utiliza um avançado sistema de aprendizado de IA para realizar uma variedade de tarefas. Basicamente, a tecnologia apresenta exemplos com algumas atividades e, em seguida, o robô pratica essas tarefas em simulação durante algumas horas. Assim, ele aprende a executar aquelas ações.
Esse sistema também permite definir variáveis adicionais, como a proximidade em seguir os movimentos do exemplo ou a prioridade dada à velocidade, eficiência ou à criticidade de realizar o trabalho corretamente.
Punyo, além de ser uma gracinha, pode revolucionar o modo como as máquinas se movimentam e garantir maior segurança e eficiência quando os robôs estiverem no futuro em nossas casas.
